Methandienone (danabol) is a most famous and widely used steroid in sports.
The structure of Methandienone contains a 17-alpha-methyl group. It is the alkylation of C17-alpha that makes the oral use of this anabolic steroid possible, with a very noticeable effect on the body (and a negative effect on the liver).
The half-life of Methandienone is 4.5-6 hours. The drug has moderate estrogenic effects, and its rate of conversion into a metabolite with more pronounced androgenic properties through the enzyme 5-alpha reductase is low.
